2004 Foundation Gala Events an Unprecedented Success
The 2004 Sequoia Hospital Foundation Gala
Events were an unprecedented success. The Ball, held Friday night,
September 17th at the Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club,
featured live auctioneer Frank Bizzarro with cohort Joe Putnam, an
outstanding silent auction and, later, dancing to the music
of Rex Allen's Swing Express. The elegant and enjoyable evening
truly put everyone in a spirit to 'Celebrate the New Sequoia.'
A traditional shotgun start began the annual
Invitational Golf Tournament Monday, September 20th at the Sharon
Heights Golf and Country Club. The warm summer afternoon saw
more than 26 teams enjoying a day of golf among friends and
colleagues. The evening found everyone unwinding together in the
clubhouse for a relaxing dinner, silent auction and awards
ceremony.
The Danford Foundation and the Hannig Family
were the Presenting Sponsors for the 2004 Gala Events and Mrs.
Gloria Kennett served as honorary chair emeritus in loving memory
of her husband, Dr. William Kennett. Dr. and Mrs. Edward
Katz, Dr. and Mrs. George Koenig, Dr. Denise Brown and Dr. Alex
Brown chaired this year's Sequoia Ball while Frank Hannig, Jr. and
Greg Kemist chaired the Golf Tournament.
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the
Sequoia Hospital Foundation, we extend our heartfelt thanks to
those who supported the Gala Events. We are proud to announce that
the 2004 Gala Events netted a record breaking $202,000 to
enhance patient care at Sequoia Hospital. This year we celebrated
both the unveiling of plans for the Sequoia Hospital of the
twenty-first century and our commitment to compassionate care with
proceeds from the events used to fund new Infusion Pumps for
Sequoia Hospital patients.
